Technical question raised on Korean stem-cell report
Associated Press
WASHINGTON - South Korea's cloning pioneer, embroiled in an ethical controversy over his landmark stem-cell research, has alerted the journal Science to what appears to be a copy-editing error in his findings.
...
Hwang originally submitted accurate photos, and independent scientists who checked his work saw those originals, Science's preliminary review concludes.
But when the journal asked for high-resolution versions to publish online, Hwang's U.S. co-author, University of Pittsburgh scientist Gerald Schatten, apparently sent the wrong images, and "unfortunately no one noticed," Bradford said.
